The ancient Egyptians and Greeks had stories about the afterlife where, when you die, your 'judgment' was not based on subjective right or wrong, but whether or not your heart was light. Your heart was cut out and placed on a scale across from a feather. If your heart was lighter than the feather you could leave the underworld.
In today's world of mass media, economic stress and bombardment of negative images, it seems our hearts have grown collectively heavy. The Lighten Up Project is an attempt to tip the scales towards the light.
So share what tickles you. Share what amuses you. Share your insights on the value of lightening up.
This is not a place to fight. It is a place for light. Although not being offended is part of what keeps our hearts light, it's not the goal of this site to teach people to transcend being offended. It is the goal to provide constant evidence that the world is beautiful. Posts that become lightning rods will be deleted.
